How to get involved in Relay For Life
Jackson County: Lady Baesman (286 - 5315)
Ohio: 1 - 888 - ACS - OHIO
National: 1 - 888 - ACS - 2345
The Relay For Life is a fund raising event and we certainly can use any help you can provide. Joining a team as a member is a great way to start your Relay experience. Most team members participate in group activities for raising money like car washes, bake sales, getting donations through other ways. If you are interested in joining a team, contact Lady Baesman at the address above. If you are a natural born leader, be a team captain and organize activities to raise money with your team. Motivate your members and encourage more people to support the Relay.

Youth Participate in Relay
|
The Relay For Life is a fun activity which all ages can enjoy. Many youth organizations help raise money and particpate in the Relay overnight walking. Besides walking, and being on a team, there are many other additional ways to assist The Relay For Life. Ask how you can help set up tents or participate in the cleanup crew and help plan or help in activities during the Relay. Another way to contribute is to simply show up at the Relay and support your friends and family and honor your loved ones.

A way to honor your loved ones and support the American Cancer Society is to purchase luminaries. A luminary is a candle that honors someone who has or has had cancer. After dark, the candles are lit and placed in bags which surround the track. The names of the people being honored are written on the bags which then shine around the perimeter of the track. Luminaries are $5 and can be purchased from any team member in the weeks before the Relay or during the beginning of the Relay. Other donations are also accepted.
