Relay For Life Happenings

Opening Ceremony: 6:00 pm
Jackson High School Track
The Relay for Life is an exciting and fun family event where the community comes together to support the fight against cancer and to honor their loved ones. The Relay offers games, food, fun activities and other entertainment throughout the night as members make their way around the track. The opening ceremony begins at 6:00 pm on Friday August 10, 2001 at the Jackson High School Track. This is followed by performances by area high school marching bands. The opening lap is dedicated to cancer survivors and commences after the opening ceremony special speakers' presentation.

Whether you are walking around the track at 4 am or enjoying the activities and entertainment or just relaxing with your team mates, the Relay will certainly be a memorable and enjoyable night. Bathroom facilities and a medical staff are availible. A large variety of food will be on sale throughout the night and profits go to the ACS. A live DJ, several special youth singing and dancing groups, Bingo, Twister, craft activities, and other various events are some of the planned entertainment. See below for this year's schedule.
Closing ceremonies include the presentation of prizes, a final lap of all team members, and a few special entertainment presentations.
